E) cyber-knife center

■ The CyberKnife treatment is a non-invasive alternative or supplement to the surgical removal or conventional radiotherapy of benign tumors, but also malignant findings usually in recurrence and predominantly single tumor metastases in all body regions, including head, spine, lung, liver, prostate, pancreas and kidney.

■ Due to the flexibility of the robot arm, the CyberKnife system has several hundred different directions of irradiation in each body area. The image-controlled robot controller of the system slowly moves the CyberKnife to the precalculated positions, from which the tumor is irradiated for a few seconds at a time.

■ indications: ○ Brain metastases: maximum 4 less than 3 cm (in the first therapy), ○ progressive brain metastases after pre-irradiation, ○ Resection cavity of brain metastases postoperatively, ○ Tumor remains after surgery, ○ Recurrence or prognosis of metastases after pre-irradiation, ○ Non-small cell lung carcinoma – stage T1-T2, ○ Recurrent bronchial carcinoma after surgery and / or pre-irradiation, ○ Pulmonary metastases – maximum 3, <3 cm, ○ Hepatocellular carcinoma < 6 cm, ○ Single liver metastases <5 cm, ○ Single lymph node metastases, ○ Inoperable renal cell carcinoma, ○ Adrenal metastases, ○ Pancreatic carcinoma – primary or recurrent, ○ Prostate cancer (low or medium risk), ○16) Recurrences in the pelvis after pre-irradiation Oligometastasis in different organ systems
